This is The Ramones’s first bio. I can’t help but read it as a guidelines document. There are plenty of people who will hate to hear this, but this is evidence that The Ramones were masters at branding from the very beginning. They knew what they were, and they knew what they weren’t. They knew how to describe themselves relative to everyone else, and they had a tidy story about their origin. 37 years later, they’re still awesome.
